Blueberry Pie for Pi Day

Sweetie Pie here. I know you all come to me for your tastiest recipes, and this time is no different. But why have I chosen today to share my favorite pie recipe with you? Well, darlings, I’ll tell you.
Some of you with particularly honed math skills (or kids who are taking geometry right now) might be familiar with a most fascinating mathematical constant: Pi. People use pi to calculate lots of things, most commonly the area of a circle. To put it simply, pi is a number with decimal points that go on forever and never repeat. Ever. Seriously, the record for the most accurate calculation of pi stands at 5 trillion decimal digits with no end in sight. Most people refer to pi in a more usable form, at a simple 3.14.
So every year on March 14th (aka 3/14, or 3.14) I like to celebrate Pi Day with something round and appropriately pun-friendly: pie! So get out your rolling pin and join me in some delicious geeky baking!

Yummy Autumn Recipe: Devils on Horseback

Here's a super quick and easy appetizer that will go beautifully with your Thanksgiving or any autumn meal. It's a flavor trifecta of sweet, salty and savory (evil, no?)! Pair these babies with Wicked White or, if you want to go sparkly, Glamour Girl Bubbly, and you're off!
All you do is take some DATES (the fruit silly), cut them in half, remove the pits, and stuff with GOAT CHEESE. Then, wait for it... wrap them in BACON. Throw these lil devils in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes, let them cool, and feast! I have three words for you: Dee Lish Iss. You're welcome.

Halloween's Spookiest Sangria

Turn your favorite autumn sangria into a frightfully delicious crowd-pleaser with these awesome DIY Glow in the Dark Severed Hand Ice Cubes! Seriously, seeing these glowing hands floating in some red sangria ... well I've never craved bloody limbs like THIS before.

To make these spooky ice cubes, use Tonic Water! The luminescence comes from the quinine in the tonic, which naturally glows blue when exposed to UV light. It's wicked cool.

You'll need:

	3 cups tonic water
	2 large latex-free rubber gloves
	2 rubber bands
	wax paper
	baking sheet
	black lights

Here's what you do:

Flatten the tonic water. Just pour into a dish and swish around several times until the bubbling stops.

Fill each glove with about 1 1/2 cups of the flat tonic water. Squeeze out as much air as possible and close the opening of the glove tightly with a rubber band.

Lay the gloves flat on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. Place in the freezer until solid,...

Upcycling: another reason to finish that bottle of wine.

Whenever I finish a bottle of my Forever Cool Merlot, I mourn the loss of such beautiful glass to my recycling bin.
Luckily, I recently discovered all these DIY Wine Bottle Projects so I can turn my empty wine bottles into brand new goodies! Check out my Pinterest Board for wine bottle project ideas, or keep reading for my Tutorial on Glass Cutting and Instructions to make 2 gorgeous wine bottle transformations!

Intro to DIY Wine Bottle Projects
No matter how you want to transform your bottles once the juice is gone (Where did it go?! Such a mystery.), you’ll want to remove the labels first. I recommend soaking your bottles in soapy water for a few hours, OR using nail polish remover to saturate your labels. Then take a razor blade and gently cut and peel off the label. Now you’re ready to get started on your project of choice.
Glass Cutting 101
Most wine bottle crafts require glass cutting. These projects require a few specific tools and a fair amount of p...

Labor Day Party: An Ode To Summer

Labor Day Weekend is possibly the most beautiful weekend of the year. The weather is hot but not sweltering (hopefully), the kids are getting in last-minute fun before school starts, and relaxation is the name of the game. It's the best weekend to have that last summer barbecue with friends, and I've got some tricks to ensure that your party is truly an Ode To Summer.

1) Set the mood. Last year, Rebel Red put together a playlist for Middle Sister called "We Don't Want Summer To End!" It features some of the best summer songs ever written, including "Wipe Out," the classic "Wouldn't It Be Nice," and some newer favorites like "Pumped Up Kicks."

Click Here To View Rebel Red's Playlist in iTunes!

2) Remember those Sangria recipes I've been going on about? Make a big batch - of all four! Nothing like holding a fun fruity drink in your hand while toasting to the season, and with those options your guests can happil...
